So what exactly would you say I do, here?

Your guess is as good as mine, honestly, but I would love to highlight a few of the things I'm most focused on currently and any FAQs that might exist for them

Block Printing

Arguably the reason for this website and my newest and most enthralling obsession. Also the most simple of art-related items to acquire from me in that they're available in my shop!

Please note, these are all hand-printed so no two prints are the same!
If you'd like a print on a specific color of paper, please use the contact me and we can get it worked out!

Currently MiK only sells domestically within the US, for international orders please contact me for shipping rates and once we've settled on shipping I will send a paypal invoice. Hopefully I'll be able to work out a better system for international orders in the future!

Bookbinding

For the people that knew me as a child, I suspect one of the first things they'd mention was how I always had my nose in a book. I missed my bus stop so frequently due to reading my bus driver would come get me for my stop. I had books take up in class and the school librarians all knew me by name. I often read until the wee hours of the morning as a 4th grader starting my long and illustrious career as an insomniac. Suffice it to say, I like reading.
I also turned out to be a huge nerd and have been in fandom spaces since roughly 2004, mostly reading (though occasionally writing). It seemed a pretty natural progression to want to bind fic to have and to hold (and to smell, let's be honest) and to make the trappings of the fic as gorgeous as the prose itself.

Once I fell into the rabbit hole, the Renegade Bookbinding Guild was there to enable me to climb deeper and deeper into the hobby and I am a proud to be a member (and part of a guild!!). As far as resources for self-binding go, Renegade is a treasure-trove.

If you're keen on making your own books (fics or not) I cannot recommend them highly enough. That said, as a member I abide by the code of conduct and thusly I do not take commissions for fanbinding. I may be willing to take commissions for journals, self-written stories (that I can verify ownership of), or other things I can create from scratch such as blank cookbooks or day planners. I am also incredibly happy to guide you towards resources for creating your own books, of fic or otherwise.

Digital Art and Logo Design

One of the many, many, many hobbies I find myself with a gravitational pull towards is drawing, but for the purposes of this page- Digital Art. I largely use Procreate on an iPad for which this is it's only purpose, and occasionally Photoshop when something is just a whole lot easier in Photoshop than Procreate.  Generally speaking, I don't take art commissions. It's the kind of hobby that truly loses it's shine if I make it mostly about money.

That said- I am open to doing logo designs, or imprint designs with the caveat that I'm probably cheaper than a professional of the craft, but the only thing I can supply you with is a very high quality PNG. Vector artists are on a whole different plane of existence and we should bow to them. My comms for this start at $85, and depending on scope may incur additional costs. I will only take one commission at a time and I will not hold a waiting list.

My general terms are a non-refundable depost of $40 up front with the remainder upon final approval of proof and a delivery of the final item after the remaining balance. The base price includes two major revisions after the sketching phase. Additional revisions will be at an additional cost, and that will be communicated at the time a third revision is requested.

Lastly, I won't take on projects I don't think I'm capable of delivering on. Sometimes I am simply not the artist for the job- my skills have their limits as does my free time.
